Axis Bank transforming villages
Chandigarh: In support to government’s vision of Digital India, Axis Bank, today launched a unique initiative of reaching out to the semi-urban and rural belt customers, empowering them to make their first digital transaction. As a first step, the bank has adopted Kachhwa village in Karnal District of Haryana, to transform it into an e-village through building a comprehensive digital ecosystem.
The bank is also educating the village people on making their first digital transaction. Axis Bank plans to adopt more such villages in coming months. The initiative was launched by Shri Yogesh Kumar – Haryana Civil Services and Sub Divisional Magistrate, Karnal.Axis Bank is building a digital ecosystem in Kachhwa Village by setting up EDC/POS machines at all commercial establishments in the village along with Micro ATMs.DP
