Chandigarh: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has invited applications for online school affiliation and monitoring system of CBSE for the 2018-19 session. The process will end on June 30, 2017.
The last date for submission of applications is June 30. This includes the preceding year in which Classes VII, IX and XI are proposed to be started. These classes should not be started without prior affiliation with the board.
For extension cases, the schools who have missed the deadline last year can apply this year with a late fee. For schools (applying late) who submit their application in January, the late fee will be Rs 10,000. However, from February 1, the late fee will be Rs 50,000.
The list of schools that are eligible for affiliation with the CBSE includes government or government-aided schools, schools run by autonomous organisations under the government like the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS), the Central Tibetan Schools Organisation (CTSO), the Sainik Schools Society, etc.
The list also includes schools run by government department directly like Defence, Railways, etc, schools managed directly by public sector undertakings or by reputed societies of public sector undertakings under the financial control of such public sector undertakings or by societies formed by such undertakings and private, unaided schools.
While the board has mentioned that the online application may be submitted for the approval of middle-class syllabus or affiliation or switch over up to the secondary level, upgradation or switch over to the senior secondary level, additional subjects, applicable in the case of already CBSE affiliated senior secondary schools. The extension of provisional affiliation in the case of already CBSE affiliated schools up to the secondary or senior secondary level can also be included in the list.
The board has clarified that there will be no composite affiliation up to Class XII except in ‘switch over cases’. For non-switch over cases, a school has to first affiliate itself with the CBSE up to the secondary stage and run Class IX for a minimum period of one year before applying for upgradation to the senior secondary level. Affiliation fee is to be deposited by online banking, debit card, credit card and NEFT.
