Chandigarh:Chandigarh continued its unbroken run of four years of producing the topper of Common Admission Test (CAT). This time Mukesh Goyal is one of the 20 students to have secured 100 percentile in the top-ranking management examination. With him over 100 city students have qualified in the exam.
The result that all management aspirants were eagerly waiting for, released on Monday morning on the official website of CAT and also through text messages sent to the candidates individually. According to Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, the organizing IIM that engineers rule the roost as 20 students all over India have got 100 percentile. All of them are male and are engineers.
In the tricity, Pritika Sachdeva of UIET is reported to be the topper among girls with a percentile of 99.62. Expressing her happiness over the results, she said “As this was my second attempt, lot of things were at stake but thanks to the support of my mentors, friends and family that I could achieve such a result.”
CAT is an all India Management Entrance Exam which was held on December 4, 2016, approximately 1.95 lakh candidates took the test which was conducted across 138 cities in the country. More than 8500 students from Chandigarh region appeared for the test. TCS has been conducting this prestigious exam and it was convened by IIM Bangalore.
Top Management institutes attract top Indian and Foreign MNCs and average starting salary at IIMs ranges from 15-22 lakhs. The results were declared at 10 am but initially the site was very slow, it was only by 11:30 am that all students could check the result without any hassle. Another student, Saransh Saxena, who is working with a leading IT company in Chandigarh and scored 99.87 percentile said, “Managing a job along with CAT preparations requires good Time Management and lots of hard work.”
