Chandigarh:One of the city’s favorite hot spot Sukhna Lake has become a hub of vendors selling unhygienic street food to the visitors. With hundreds of tourist visiting the lake, vendors are having field day thus making a mockery of UT administration and its hygiene policy.
Cut and rotten fruits are being served openly with administration being the mute spectator thus risking the health of visitors. Finding the items easy on pockets, people often buy them without thinking about their health at all.
Simran Jagdev Gulati, a visitor at lake said, “Everyday, I use to come here in the evening and I have noticed that the vendors selling these food items do not wash their hands even after nature’s call and later cut the vegetables with the same hands. I am not against anyone’s livelihood but I am against the unhygienic food they are serving.”Senior official from Food
