Chandigarh:Seventeen times Hind Kesri Hitesh Kala of Bahadurgarh in Haryana downed three times Hind Kesri Gaurav Machhiwara to win the UT Administration’s promotional Cashless Dangal on Tuesday. Hitesh became the first ever Digital Kesri by winning the Digi Dangal, the wrestling championship.
The wrestling bout was decided on toss as the 15-minute bout failed to produce results as both the wrestlers were at par with each other.
Hitesh was presented prize money of Rs 60,000 by the UT Administrator V P Singh Badnore along with Dr Harshvardhan Union Minister, jointly and the second prize winner got Rs 40,000. Both the prize moneys were transferred to their accounts right from the announcement dias through ‘Bheem’ the app.
In another competition termed as ‘Bal Dangal’ – Children Wrestling was won by Jaskaran of Kajheri village in Chandigarh.
The wrestling competition was held at Sector 17 Football Stadium where 17 wrestlers slugged it out in various categories. The stadium was full of spectators and wrestling lovers as they all cheered their favourite wrestlers.
Auyshma Khurana and Indian Olympic Medallist Yogeshwar Dutt were the main attraction for the visitors.After winning the competition 17 times, Hind Kesri Hitesh Kala said, “This concept will further give boost to the wrestling sport. More and more people will get attached to the sport. It is a very good concept to promote cashless concept through wrestling. Being rural sport, more people will come to watch and also will show keen interest in learning cashless concept.”
