Bathinda: Chief Electoral Officer Punjab V K Singh on Wednesday visited all six counting centers of Bathinda district to take stock of arrangements and preparations for counting to be held on March 11.
Accompanied by Additional Director General of Police-cum-Nodal Officer Elections V K Bhawra, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori, Senior Superintendent of Police Swapan Sharma, the CEO took round of all counting centers in the premises of PESCO, Institute of Hotel Management and Central University. The CEO informed that all the process will be done under videography including transfer of Electronic Voting Machines from strong rooms to counting hall whereas all counting centers will have CCTV cameras.
He said that except election observers no one will be allowed to take mobile phones to counting centers so the candidates and counting agents should not bring their mobiles inside the premises of counting. DC Bathinda Ghanshyam Thori said that all the staff deputed for counting will remain present at their respective duty by 7 am so that the counting could start as per schedule.
Ferozepur: The counting for all four constituencies of Ferozepur district will be done at Dev Raj High Tech College of Enginnering and Technology Zira Road Ferozepur on March 11. Deputy Commissioner cum District Election Officer Ferozepur Balwinder Singh Dhaliwal inspected and had a word with all the concerned officials on Wednesday. Moreover, March 11 has been declared as dry day in district under the section 54 of Punjab Excise Act 1914.
