Gurbachan Singh is the man who hurled a shoe on Badal during his election campaign at Ratta Khera village
Bathinda: A group of radical Sikhs on Friday appealed to AAP candidate Jarnail Singh Khalsa to withdraw his candidature and support Gurbachan Singh for contesting against Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal from Lambi assembly seat.
Gurbachan Singh is the man who recently hurled a shoe on Badal during his election campaign at Ratta Khera village in Lambi segment.
After he was arrested on the spot, police produced him Malout courts and got his two-day remand for ascertaining his links with hardliners and the intent behind the incident.
Speaking to media, Gurdeep Bathinda of United Akali Dal along with Parminder Singh Balianwali of SAD (A) claimed that AAP candidate was having respect among them for hurling a shoe at the then P Chidambram but mentioned that Gurbachan played a bigger job.
“So, we want Gurbachan to contest against Badal and Jarnail sit in his favour,” said the hardline Sikh activists.
Meanwhile, there was a commotion when police were about to take Gurbachan away from court. The radicals tried to offer Siropa but a police inspector Kuldeep Sharma allegedly didn’t allow the same, resultantly, Gurbachan supporters started raising slogans outside the court complex.
