Fatehgarh Sahib: Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib’s Sri Guru Granth Sahib 4th Centenary memorial trust has been reconstituted by SGPC president Prof Kirpal Singh Badungar.
As per the circular issued, a trust comprising of 15 members has been constituted.
According to the university vice chancellor Dr Gurmohan Singh Walia, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal is an essential part of the trust and President Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Prof Kirpal Singh Badungar is presiding over the trust.
The trust comprises of the academicians par excellence in the form of Dr Jaspal Singh, Vice Chancellor, Punjabi University, Patiala and Dr Ajaib Singh Brar, Vice Chancellor, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar.
The trust also includes some of the most experienced administrative officers and former bureaucrats. R S Maan, former chief secretary Punjab, Former Principal Secretary, Chief Minister Punjab, Darbara Singh Guru, Nirmal Singh, retired justice, Punjab and Haryana High Court, Amarjit Singh Sidhu, former IAS officer and Milkfed Chairman and Baldev Singh Kayampur, Senior Vice President Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC).
Raghujit Singh Virk, former vice president, Kiranjot Kaur, Jaipal Singh Mandiaan, Harjinder Singh Dhami, Surinder Singh Thekedar, Parmjit Kaur Landran who have a great experience of providing services in the field of religion and education.
Former IAS Darbara Singh Guru joined University’s trust as its Member Secretary. Vice Chancellor of the University, Dr Gurmohan Singh said that it is a great honour for University to have Chief Minister, Punjab, Parkash Singh Badal as one of its members who have played a great role in the growth and development of the University since it’s inception.
