Ferozepur: In Ferozepur 81.65 percent voters polled their votes on Saturday to choose 4 candiadtes among the total 48 candidates in the fray. There were 696080 total voters in the district and 48 candidates in the fray.
Among them 568384 voters used their right of vote to elect their four candidates from Zira, Ferozepur urban, Ferozepur Rural and Guruharsahai constituencies.
The highest polling was witnessd in Guruharsahai constituency where poll percentage was 87.2 perecnt followed by Zira with 85.2 percent, Ferozepur rural 84.55 percent. Yet again the lowest polling was from Ferozepur urban constituency with only 70.16 percent.
As per the data given by the Election office 150777 voters out of total 176962 polled their votes in 75-Zira constituency where Hari Singh Zira of SAD, Kulbir Singh Zira of Congress and Gurpreet Singh Gora of AAP had been contesting the elction, whereas 124274 out of 177124 voters used their right to vote in 76-Ferozepur Urban constituency from where there is a strong contest between Parminder Singh Pinky of Congress, Sukhpal Singh of BJP and Narinder Singh Sandha of AAP. In 77-Ferozepur rural constituency from where the Congress candidate Satkar Kaur, SAD candidate Joginder Singh Jindu and AAP candidate Mohan Singh had been contesting 156207 out of 184741 voters polled their votes. In 78-Guruharsahai constituency 137126 out of 157253 voters polled their votes to elect their candidate among Rana Gurmeet Singh Sodhi of Congress, Malkiat Singh Thind of AAP and Vardev Singh Mann of SAD.
In the previous elections held in 2012, Hari Singh Zira of SAD had been representing from Zira, Parminder Singh Pinky of Congress from Ferozepur urban, Joginder Singh Jindu of SAD from Ferozepur Rural and Gurmeet singh Sodhi from Guruharsahai.
