Association urges to Change the name of PCMS service to PCM(S)
Ferozepur: As the Punjab Government had organised the 6th pay commission to recommend the new pay scales for the different categories of all the employees of the Punjab state, the PCMS Association Punjab urged the special pay scale for the Senior Medical Officers. Writing a letter to the Pay commission, the Chief Advisor PCMS services Dr Daler Singh Multani said that the senior Medical officer has to perform the different and some special duties of PHC/CVHC/CH along with the administrative management as well as to monitor and supervise the field staff and to monitor all the national programmes also for 24*7 hours, it deserve at least 5 extra increments. Dr Multani said that the post of SMO is based on the length of the service and not based on the qualifications. Generally one gets this promotion after the completion of 25 years and after which there are only 10 per cent chances to get the next promotion. of the service only.
