The accident took place outside Raowali village near Punjabi Bagh locality
Jalandhar: Dense fog on the outskirts of city on Friday morning led to collision of four vehicles on the busy Jalandhar-Pathankot highway, killing one in the accident.
The incident took place in the morning, when an over speeding Tipper trailer, an Alto car, a scooter and a truck hit each other, leading to the death of one Darshan Singh and injuring three.
As per information, the accident took place outside Raowali village near Punjabi Bagh locality, when the tipper was hit by Alto car rammed into the truck. The impact of the collision was so severe that the car was left badly damaged. Even before the car could be brought out from under the truck, a scooter borne person also hit the car and the truck. Later, a speeding bus also failed to locate the stationary vehicles because of fog and hit the vehicles.
A Police party rushed to the highway to bring out the damaged vehicles. The injured were rushed to nearby private hospital while the accident led to jam for some time, which was cleared by the police later.
