Ludhiana: Rajya Sabha MP Shwet Malik claimed that the Shiromani Akali Dal-Bharatiya Janta Party would form the government for the third consecutive time in the state. He said that during last 10 year tenure, both the parties focused mainly on development and good governance and that is why Punjab is now one of the most developed states in the country. Malik was speaking to media persons during a press conference held at Circuit House on Wednesday.
He further said that the BJP would be announcing names of all its candidates for upcoming Vidhan Sabha elections shortly. He said that BJP is a cadre based party where all workers work hard for the partys’ victory. He said that when the BJP announces its candidates, all workers would work wholeheartedly for their victory and that there would be no resentment among people.
Shwet Malik further asserted that the SAD-BJP alliance would form government in Punjab for the third consecutive time. He said that the main agenda of the ruling alliance is carrying overall development in the state and that is why, Punjab is now a power surplus state, besides having the best road infrastructure and air connectivity in the country. He said that even all the recruitments have been carried out in a fair and transparent manner.
MP Malik said that during the 2012 elections, BJP had won 12 out of 23 seats, but in the upcoming elections, the party would win 23 out of 23 seats. He was in the city to hold a meeting related to ‘Vijay Sankalp Yatra’ that passed through the city by Tuesday. He said that this Yatra has been started by the Bharatiya Janta Party to connect directly with the masses before the upcoming Vidhan Sabha elections. He informed that the Vijay Sankalp Yatra was welcomed in the city from Jalandhar Byepass Chowk at 12 noon and passed through Clock Tower Chowk, Division Number 3 area, Baba Than Singh Chowk, Issa Nagri Puli, Jagraon Bridge, Bharat Nagar Chowk, Midha Chowk, Ghumar Mandi, Haibowal, Upkar Nagar and other such areas.
