Ludhiana:We are making every possible effort with or without cutting the challans to make city residents aware that breaking traffic rules can cause them their life, but even then if they are not obeying traffic rules, then they are risking their own lives only”, voiced Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Dhruv Dahiya.
He further informed that first of all they tried to make people aware about traffic rules by soft ways like making them write essays on traffic rules in any language so that they should know the value of their lives or counseling them verbally over it.
But if that person is seen number of times breaking the traffic rules despite of giving reminders then they challan that specific city resident. They can just make people understand but they can’t make them obey the traffic rules forcibly on the roads or to wear helmet to save their lives, voiced Dahiya while talking about traffic challans.
But now the challans would no more be submitted in the courts due to pendency of work with courts as courts of this country are already overburdened and they cannot bear more burden of accepting challans of common public in routine.
Dahiya explaining about the submission of challans informed, “The submission of challans in court was done on the trail basis which was not very much successful due to the pendency of work with courts. They have to see number of legal matters. It consumes a lot of time of courts and public both so this decision was taken back and now challans would be submitted as usual only. It was not a very successful.”
Last but not the least, they just don’t cut challans to earn revenue for department, but to make people understand to value their precious lives while moving on the road. Moreover these days the traffic police have got more active in the Ludhiana.
