Ludhiana: At an age when most people go spiritual and government employees retire, a school teacher put the teacher-taught relationship to shame by allegedly sexually exploiting three minor girls at a government school in nearby Dehlon. After registering an FIR against the accused teacher, the police have launched a manhunt to arrest him. The Education Department has also ordered a departmental inquiry against the accused teacher Bant Singh (58), a resident of Ahmedgarh. Sources said that earlier also the accused was facing similar allegations. He teaches social studies at Government Senior Secondary School, Jadtoli near Dehlon. According to the information, a 10-year-old girl student of class 6th complained of ill health and when her parents took her for a medical checkup, the doctors diagnosed infection in her abdomen. Later the victim narrated the whole incident to her parents and accused her teacher of sexual harassment.
The accused also threatened the victim to remain mum or he will expel her from the school. Following that the father of victim lodged a complaint with police and an FIR has been registered against the accused teacher under section 354B (assault or use of criminal force to woman with intent to disrobe) of the IPC and section 4 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Two more minor girls of the school have also leveled similar charges against the accused. Deputy District Education Officer Charanjit Singh said that a departmental inquiry has been marked against the accused teacher and report will be sent to the higher authorities.
