Ludhiana :The General Manager of Northern Railways, AK Puthia said Indian Railways was mulling to further increase its revenue by renting its spaces for advertisements. The letter regarding it was also sent to Ludhiana Railway Station with other railway stations of Northern India. As our Prime Minister also said that department should make optimum use of the resources to earn revenue for the railways in country.
“In order to increase revenue, the Indian Railways is mulling to rent empty space on the train coaches, wagons, buildings and platforms for the advertisement. The advertisements will be collected through government and private agencies as it will get good response,” he said after inspecting Ludhiana Station in his last visit.
He further said that as Ludhiana is an Industrial town and railways can get a lot of advertisers for it as train coaches not only move in Ludhiana but different states and cities on their route. The advertising on the train coaches would be very beneficial for them to provide revenue to railways in a big manner when this scheme would come on floor by month of April this year.
The queries regarding scheme have already been started by the industrialists of the various cities including Industrial town Ludhiana. It would be beneficial both for people and railways in terms of earning revenue along publicity in the masses as train not just move at one specific place but at various places.
He told that railways would also put up posters of the missing people, especially children, and a concerned helpline number will be on display at the station in the public interest. In the letter, he also instructed officials to ensure cleanliness so that more as station will further get developed and modernised under smart city project in which Ludhiana is also there among the top 20 countries. Moreover, he added that railways is attached to every section of society and there should be proper cleanliness under the Swatch Bharat Mission and even coaches then only, people would invest money for the advertising on the coaches of the trains on various routes of country.
