Ludhiana: The roads in ward number 29 that were carpeted just three months ago are once again in poor state of affairs especially of Deep Nagar. The broken patches on roads and debris scattered all around the place speaks volumes about the poor condition of the roads.
The city residents have complained about poor condition of roads to the Municipal Corporation Ludhiana. The poor condition of road shows the low quality material being used in carpeting the roads, which resulted in broken roads within just three months. But the area residents rued that the Municipal Corporation Ludhiana have put a deaf ear to their complaints about the broken patches on the roads within just three months.
A Deep Nagar area resident, Sushil Raju Thapar demanded Municipal Corporation Commissioner, Ludhiana, Kamalpreet Kaur Brar for an inquiry in to the poor material being used in the carpeting of their area roads. They further lamented that even the area councillor has not paid any heed to their plea of inquiring into the matter and stop the payment of the contractor. They even asked them to call the contractor in the Deep Nagar and ask him to tell all why he has used poor material in carpeting of their area roads.
“The roads were carpeted in a hurry with poor material before the elections and in late evening hours which has resulted in such a poor condition of our area roads, which ultimately affects our vehicles. Earlier these roads were not carpeted from a long time and when these are carpeted three months ago, they used with poor quality material. They don’t keep any check over the contractor’s work and they do such a bad road carpeting work of roads”, rued city residents Chirag Raju Thapar, Rachit Sharma and other area residents.
