Patiala: Punjab’s Health, Medical Education and Research and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Brahm Mohindra on Sunday announced that Captain Amarinder Singh-led state government will order an inquiry to find out the irregularities committed by misusing the developmental funds released by the previous Parkash Singh Badal-led government during the last six months of its tenure through Sangat Darshan programmes.
The minister made such remarks while interacting with the media here on Sunday.

Interestingly, a large number of his supporters from his Patiala rural assembly segment were also lined up in the Circuit House to meet their leader. Mohindra’s wife Harpreet Mohindra and son Mohit Mohindra were also present with him.
While continuing with his talk with the media, Mohindra claimed that he came to know from some reliable sources that the previous SAD-BJP government had procured funds from two private banks and for this purpose, the previous government had even mortgaged some state government properties with the banks in lieu of loan guarantee.
He claimed that that very money was misused as in intense cold conditions, roads were carpeted and such roads were damaged within a week’s time.
He said that everything was in black and white and so the government had decided to order an inquiry into this and every detail will be brought before the public.
Mohindra also announced that the state government had also decided to put a blanket ban on the sale of the state government’s properties in future as well. He said that the government was also serious about bringing reforms in the health sector as well and for this, he had firmed up his department and the department was geared up and in next three months, a plan for reforms would be brought before the government. He added that the department of health was also going to play a major role in the fight against drug menace.
