Ludhiana: A protest which was staged outside Meritorious School by the school teachers because of an English teacher, Ravinder Singh (SC Category) on getting suspension letter from his designation due to his poor performance as a teacher, entered its day 3.
On Friday, teachers of meritorious school Ludhiana protested against Colonel Amarjeet Singh (Principal) and Project Director of society (Maj. Gen. K.A.S Bhullar). The protest begun when Ravinder Singh sat outside the school gate since morning till working hours of school demanding justice for himself. The staff appealed to CM of Punjab, Captain Amrinder Singh to interfere in the school, also being Chairman of the meritorious school society. The entire staff handed over the letter to project Director through Principal of school, who assured to take their demands forward. The staff members tucked black ribbons, calling it a black day in the history of Education of Punjab and then the whole staff protested at Fountain Chownk raising slogans against school authorities to let the teachers teach and not become slaves.
Later, the staff met MLA Bharat Bhushan Ashu demanding justice from them and handed over there demand letter to them. MLA Bharat Bhusan Ashu assured that he will talk to school authorities regarding case of Ravinder Singh and if he is not guilty, immediate justice will be granted to victim.
The staff further claimed, “We are being threatened by school authorities to stop agitating but we will not stop until the Education minister, Punjab and Chief Minister assure us justice for Ravinder Singh.”
