Patiala: Vigilance Bureau on Tuesday nabbed a Branch Manager of primary Cooperative Agriculture Development Limted Bank at Patran red handed while accepting the bribe.
According to the Inspector Paramjit Kumar (VB) the trap was laid after Gur Pyar Singh, a resident of village Hariaoun Kalan them. Singh in his complaint stated that he took a loan of Rs 8 lakh 82 thousand from the above mentioned bank four years ago for setting up a dairy farm. Singh also stated that he paid every instalment on time but still bank manager was holding the subsidy amounting to Rs 32 thousand and sought a bribe of Rs 10 thousand to clear the subsidy.
Following the directions of VB Singh gave Rs 10 thousand to the bank manager before shadow witnesses namely namely Darshan Singh and Gurwinder Singh. The said amount of Rs 10 thousand was recovered from bank manager who was arrested on the spot.
Investigation Office , Paramjit Kumar added that the accused will be produced before the Duty Magistrate within 24 hours.
