Ferozepur: Ferozepur (urban) is a very peculiar assembly constituency, where the people always settled their accounts with those who deceived them in one or the other way.
It had given so many chances to the Congress as well as the BJP, but whenever the MLA of the constituency played clever tricks, the people sent him to sit at home. Ferozepur (urban) is among those backward areas, which failed to develop like other cities of the state.
Many of the MLA’s showed people the dreams to remove the word ‘backward’ from this constituency, but they failed. Main problem of this area is that neither there is any industry nor the basic amenities. There is no mega hospital or educational institute in the area. The people of the area had no option but to go to Chandigarh, Ludhiana and Bathinda for treatment and for attaining higher studies.
As BJP did not keep its promise, the people had elected the Congress candidate Parminder Singh Pinky as the MLA. Parminder Singh Pinky managed to get the approval of setting up PGI satellite centre for Ferozepur in 2013 from the central government of the UPA.
After getting this project he publicised it well and took the credit. The state government did not allot land for the PGI centre, because it did not want to give any credit to the Congress MLA. After some time the BJP’s former state president Kamal Sharma, showed that he had been trying to get the land for the project.
In last month the BJP’s claim to allot the land was exposed when a team of PGI had denied allotment of land. Now, the Congress MLA has been exposing the BJP’s conduct and promising to start the project after coming into power. But those suffering from diseases, are in no mood to spare those who had played with their interests.
Now it is the turn of the people to play their game and send the dreamers back to the pavilion.
