The beginning of a campaign for the reconstruction of the historic Gurdwara Gyan Godhri in Haridwar, was started with the Path of Japji Sahib on sunday. The Sangat gathered in the Gurdwara Manji Sahib in Amritsar collectively read the Japji sahib bani. On this occasion, Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh was also present.For the successful completion of the Gurdwara Gyan Godhri campaign, Sri Akal Takht had requested all Sikhs living in the entire world to recite Japji Sahib on 14th May. Under this, Sikhs living in their own homes, including the Guru Houses of the country, read the Japji Bani.This campaign was jointly started by SGPC and DSGMC under the leadership of Akal Takht. In this, Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal is also urging people to join the campaign.Gurdwara Gyan Godhri, Haridwar is the historical Gurdwara related to Sri Guru Nanak Sahib. It was collapsed in 1984. Since then, even after more than 33 years of time, the restoration of the Guru’s house has not been possible.
Although many Sikh organizations have been demanding for the rebuilding of the Guru’s house for many years, but the SGPC and the Delhi Committee for the first time are actively engaged to rebuild the Gurdwara. According to the committee leaders, the next strategy of this campaign will be concluded after today’s prayer.
