Textile to remain closed on Thursday, 15th June 2017 in protest against any GST on textiles. This is to inform you for the first time after Independence, Textile has been brought under GST regime with 5% GST. We totally oppose the move by your Government. We have unanimously decided that there should be “NO GST ON TEXTILES “and would be doing a complete shutdown of our trade across the state. As it is practically impossible for thousands of small time traders and shop keepers and karigar’s who are have no infrastructure and education to be GST COMPLIANCE. With the new laws and penalty’s and penalization in place from 1 st of July 2017 it’s the end of the road for the small businesses. This Resentment Is Beign Shown In Form Of Complete Shut Down Of Showrooms And Wholesale Markets Across Punjab. We stand with our fellow textile merchants- Om Prakash Roop Square, Chairman , Sanjay Arora ‘Kala Mandir’ President , S P Singh ‘Choice’ Finance Secretary , Anish Ji ‘Roop Kala’ .Vice President Rom Ludhiana Cloth Merchant Association , Pawan Batra President Ghumar Mandi Association And Also Wholesaler Office Bearers : Gurcharan Singh Chan President Of AC Market, Monty : Diwan Singh Batra, Lovely From Mohar Singh Manpreet Singh , Dicky From SP Textiles, R P Embroidery And Kishan Ji Roopam, Rommi Geeson’s, Bhaita Ji, across INDIA for “0 % GST ON TEXTILES and would like to send this message across to the FINANCE MINISTRY TO RELOOK INTO SERIOUS MATTER AGAIN.
