Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh has expressed sorrow at the death of 21 Khalistani terrorists during the tenure of Chandra Shekhar. Chandra Shekhar served as the country’s eighth PM from November 1990 to June 1991. On the occasion of the release of his biography ‘The Peoples Maharaja’ Amarinder Singh claimed that Chandra Shekhar had betrayed him and he (Amarinder) is responsible for the death of 21 Khalistani millitants.He said that he was called Amarinder that Some terrorists want to surrender. So he called the Prime Minister and informed him about it. The Prime Minister was pleased with the decision of surrender and he asked Amarinder Singh to do this regarding surrender of the terrorists.Punjab’s Chief Minister surrendered 21 terrorists at the residence of Prime Minister at that time, but six months later he came to know that all 21 Khalistani terrorists were killed. He said that he regretted by trusting on Chandra Shekhar and since then he did not take any initiative for surrender. Amarinder Singh tweeted from his Twitter account after the program, arrangements were made by me to surrender of 21 Khalistani terrorists, who were murdered. From this, I felt cheated myself by the Prime Minister Chandra Shekhar. I did not talk to them after that.

Justice Singh has also maintained that there are pro – Khalistan elements in the Government of Canada. Earlier, Amarinder had refused to meet Indian-Canadian Defense Minister Harjit Singh Sajjan. Amarinder Singh had accused Sajjan and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government of belonging to other Punjabi origin Ministries in connection with the use of extremist elements in connection with the demand of Khalistan. None of the Punjab Government ministers had gone to welcome him during the visit.
