Eight killed factory wall collapse Himachal’s Baddi. Eight people, including four children, were killed on Wednesday when a boundary wall of factory collapsed on their huts in Himachal Pradesh’s Baddi town after a storm. Seven of the injured were admitted to Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) in Chandigarh.Solan deputy commissioner Rakesh Kanwar said, “They were residing on government land.” The eight residents of Saraj Majra village died on the spot. The incident took place at 1am when a storm followed by rain struck the area.The hill areas of Himachal Pradesh received light to moderate rainfall on Tuesday night and on Wednesday morning, damaging property in Chamba and Mandi districts. A flashflood hit Kamotha village of Kalhel panchayat in Chamba and damaged houses. The storm that accompanied the rain damaged apple crop, while landslides blocked the Chamba-Tissa road.The minimum temperature in Shimla fell by 10 degrees in two days. Shimla recorded a minimum of 11 degrees Celsius, Manali 9 degrees and Dharamsala 14.8 degrees Celsius. On Monday, the day temperature in Shimla was 28.3 degrees Celsius, Sundernagar 35.9, Bhuntar 32 and Dharamsala 33.8 degrees Celsius.
