WHO recommends ‘radical measures’ for Chikungunya in Karachi.According to Sindh health ministry officials said that the 2,076 suspected cases of chikungunya in Karachi. Balochistan province in the southwestern region of the country has seen 472 suspected cases with chickengunya from last three months.The main cause of Chikungunya ,is infection,it comes from chikungunya virus.The Symptoms are include fever and joint pain. Other symptoms may include headache, muscle pain, joint swelling, and a rash. The very young, old, and those with other health problems are at risk of more severe disease. Chikungunya is generally transmitted from mosquitoes to humans. Less common modes of transmission include vertical transmission ,which is transmission from mother to child during pregnancy or at birth.Sindh health department nominated on Friday Dr Masood Solangi,programme manager of Sindh’s Dengue Prevention and control Programme,as the Provincial focal person for Chickengunya control and management programme.Most of the people,travelled to Karachi for trade,study,tourism and meet their relatives that is the main cause of Chickengunya occurrence.
