Shah will interact with party leaders and works for seeking their suggestions for strengthening the party at grass root levels. Shah will also take feedback on the current political situation of the region. Though the BJP chief is expected to meet the Chandigarh unit of party leaders, yet his visit to Chandigarh, capital of Punjab and Haryana, is being considered very vital and may change equations of Punjab politics for 2019 Lok Sabha elections.Earlier, senior BJP leader and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh had also visit City and had meetings with Chief Ministers of the region and party leaders and workers. The issue when to contest next election independently (without making alliance with SAD), could also be discussed in the meeting. Currently, the Chandigarh unit of the party is busy in making elaborated arrangements to give Shah a warm welcome and make the event a huge success. For the purpose, Sanjay Tandon, president of the unit, have constituted almost 12 committees and assigned them different duties. The party has started erecting hoardings, banner and flags ay different places across the city, informed Chander Shekhar, general secretary of the party.
