Residents supported by Akali leaders protest against Police. The residents of Village Ghawaddi supported by leaders of Shiromanii Akali Dal (SAD) staged protest at Dehlon Chowk demanding Justice in the murder case of woman who was found murdered on May 23. The protest continued for one and half hour in which the commuters have to face tough time in traffic jam. The protest was led by Senior Akali Dal leader and former MLA Darshan Singh Shivalik.According to information a woman Harpal kaur, resident of village Ghawaddi was found murdered. After the investigation the Dehlon Police have registered murder case against unidentified persons. The Akali dal leaders alleged that Police is trying to shield the accused and didn’t nominate any person in the case. The matter was raised before SAD president and former Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal two days ago. Badal has asked the leaders of party to support the family of deceased.Former MLA Darshan Singh Shvalik said that law and order situation in Punjab has collapsed and police is unable to trace the murder accused. The villagers raised fingers on local congress leaders and blamed them for involvement in murder. Shivalik said that they will take the case to logical conclusion and continue the protest till the family of deceased will get justice.Sarpanch of village Ghawaddi Jagdeep Singh alias kala misbehaved with media persons and commuters during the protest. The Sarpanch wanted the media persons to publish his statement and also criticize media fraternity. The commuters who were struck in traffic jam also entered in heated arguments with Sarpanch and other protesters.The senior Journalists have decided to meet Police commissioner against the attitude of Sarpanch. Sarpanch, 35 others booked for blocking traffic. A day after the residents of village Ghawaddi led by Sarpanch jagdeep Singh blocked road in protest against the Police, a case has been registered against Sarpanch and 35 other persons. The Police have slapped case under section 283 of IPC.
