From time to time, the government and authorities have been working to improve the education system in India by making it more friendly to the students. Beating up of the students by the teachers used to be a tradition in the Indian Schools, but this ritual was supposed to be almost dead until this news came out of a school in Patiala. The incident took place on the school trip of the British Co-ed School, Patiala where the students alleged to have been beaten up by their teacher named, Vikas Devan. A number of 105 students from class 9th to 12th were said to be on the school trip. The students asserted that they were playing on their mobile phones when Vikas Devan entered in drunken state and started to beat them mercilessly for no reason.
Further, the students disclosed the matter to their parents. The parents were furious and on the return of the school trip, they wasted no time in bashing the drunkard teacher. However, Vikas Devan was saved by his fellow colleagues from the beat down. The other teachers tried to cool down the things and enquired about the matter. To this, the Parents replied that they had complained about Devan’s behaviour to the management earlier and to avenge he beat up the kids at the school trip. They added that along with the beatings, he abused the kids as well. The other teachers, though, promised to take an immediate action against Vikas Devan.
