On Wednesday, a shooting has been reported inside the Iranian parliament by two semi-official Iranian news agencies, Fars and Mehr, said Reuters.“A person entered the Iranian parliament today and started shooting at the guards. He shot one of the guards in the leg and ran away,” Reuters quoted the agencies as saying.Three shooters left two civilian visitors, one security officer injured, Iranian news agency Mehr. The fire exchanges are reportedly continuing.
Meanwhile, there were also reports of a simultaneous shooting in the revered mausoleum of Ayatollah Khomeini, the founder of the modern state, in Tehran. The attack has been carried out by three gunmen, who are still inside the parliament building.
Two of them are armed with AK-47 assault rifles, and the third one has a handgun. Shooting seems to have ended, but the assailants have not been arrested so far.
