Ferozepur:Election campaign in most of the constituencies in Punjab is on full swing and all the candidates have geared up their electioneering. But the BJP is totally absent from the field for the time being, as no candidate has been declared by the party.
In Ferozepur district, major parties including SAD, AAP, BSP and Congress had declared their candidates since many days before the declaration of the election dates so that they can get the proper time to visit their constituencies.
All the declared candidates are working very hard in the field to woo the voters. Among all these parties the AAP candidates have been using every mode of the electioneering, whereas the candidates of SAD, Congress and BSP have been concentrating on personal contact. SAD had field its candidates from Zira, Gurharsahai and Ferozepur (rural) constituencies whereas the Congress has field its candidates from Zira, Ferozepur (rural), Ferozepur (urban) and Guruharsahai constituencies. The AAP has also fielded its candidates from Zira, Ferozepur (rural), Ferozepur (urban) and Guruharsahai.
Among these four assembly segments two constituencies Zira and Ferozepur (rural) had been represented by SAD whereas the other two Ferozepur (urban) and Guruharsahai had been represented by the Congress.
Neither AAP nor the BJP had won any seat and BSP was also nowhere in the picture in these assembly segments.
There would be multi-cornered and neck-to-neck contests on all these constituencies. SAD candidates have almost completed their first round of contacting people, whereas the candidates of the Congress were also in the contact with the people since long. But as three candidates of AAP are the new entrants, they have to struggle hard to contact all the voters.
But as the BJP has not declared its candidates for so many reasons, and due to which no candidate could start their campaign so far, it may affect the electioneering and prospects of the BJP in the coming elections.
