Jalandhar:A delegation of ex-servicemen under the banner of the United Front (Jantar Mantar) on Sunday said they would support Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh in his fight against major social problems of drugs menace, corruption, unemployment and addressing farmer issues.
United Front (Jantar Mantar) convener Lt Col Balbir Singh and office-bearers of the Punjab Ex-servicemen Front said they were hopeful that Punjab would return to its glory. “We would stand behind Capt Amarinder Singh and provide every possible support to help eradicate social problems,” he said.
Col Balbir Singh said that currently the state was facing the drug menace, unemployment, inspector raj, goondaism, mafia raj, adulteration in food items, farming crisis, excessive taxes and several other problems and they wanted to ensure Captain that they could do anything to help himn in making new Punjab.
They said the ex-servicemen were elated as Capt Amarinder Suingh has accepted their demands pertaining to welfare, ESM 13 per cent vacancies in government departments, tax issues, among others. Among others present on this occasion were Maj-General K S Aujla, Brig Manjit Singh, Col G S Bhullar, Col Baldev Singh, Col T S Toor, Col S S Bajwa, Col Teja Singh, Col Gurdyal Singh and Major J S Aulakh.
