Hoshiarpur:Two days after he was kidnapped, Hoshiarpur Police on Tuesday traced the victim and arrested four persons for kidnapping a Gurgaon based youngster. The kidnappers had even made Rs 20 lakh ransom call to the victim’s family.
Zakir Hussain, a resident of Khwajali Kalan in Gurgaon (Haryana) was kidnapped on March 12 by unidentified persons from Dasuya- Mukerian belt of Hoshiarpur district.
The Hoshiarpur police had received a complaint from Rao Abdul Javed Khan, a resident of Panchkula in Haryana who has stated that his nephew Zakir Hussain was kidnapped by unidentified persons. Rao Abdul had made the complaint to the police through Whatsapp on March 12.
SSP Hoshiarpur Harcharan Singh Bhullar said that in his complaint Rao Javed had shared that some unidentified kidnappers had taken his nephew Zakir to Lalpur village. “Zakir had reached Tanda -Dasuya-Mukerian region on March 9, where he was selling herbal oil. The kidnappers made calls through mobile phone and demanded Rs 20 lakh from the family. A kidnapping case was registered under section 364 IPC at Hariana police station and investigation was started.
The accused were identified as Daljit Singh alias Kala from Raipur Rasulpur village in Jalandhar, Paramjit Singh alias Pamma, a resident of Mill Colony Bhogpur, Mashum Ali and Naresh Kumar, both residents of Lalpur village. All four were brought on police remand for further investigation.
It is pertinent to mention here that the SSP had constituted investigation teams under DSP (Investigation) Harpreet Singh Mandher and others. The SSP said that on March 13, when the search teams were conducting raids at some farm houses, they reached Hothi Farm near Bassi Wazid canal. “The police party intercepted a car bearing number PB-08-BV-0002 coming from the kothi and saw five persons sitting in the vehicle”, he said.
SSP Bhullar said that when the vehicle was intercepted, the persons inside the car were questioned. “They were identified as Daljit Singh, Paramjit Singh, Mashum Ali and Naresh Kumar, both residents of Lalpur village. The fifth person in the car was identified as Zakir Hussain”, he said.
The police said that Zakir informed them that he was held captive by the four persons for the last three days. “The kidnappers were beat me up badly and sought Rs 20 lakh ransom from my familu”, he informed.
