DP Correspondent , Ludhiana:-District level task force committee conducted raid at two factories, canteen and mess at Punjab Agricultural University and rescued 21 bonded child laborers on Friday.The raid was conducted by Assistant Commissioner Poonam Preet kaur following the directions of Deputy Commissioner Pradeep Aggarwal.Poonam preet kaur said that they have got information about the child labor in factories in Anand nagar and during the raid they found that 18 childrns below the age of 18 were working in the factories. The factories were running in the houses. She said that the childrens were forced to do work for 12 hours in a day.The team also conducted raid at canteen and mess in Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) and rescued three bonded child laborers. The children’s were preparing food in the canteen when the task force conducted raid. A city resident has lodged complaint with administration and Child right commission about the child labor in canteen at university.According to information all the rescued children’s were of 12-13 years of age.The childrens were sent to child care home and they will be handed over to their families after the medical examination at civil hospital.Poonam Preet kaur said that the report will be sebnt to higher authorities and Child right commission and further action will be taken against the owner of factories at contractor of canteen.
