Agitation during teaching times, Punjab Govt. suspend six leaders . The Punjab Govt. has decided to tackle with suspension to the leaders of teachers ‘Union, who prefer to lead protest rather than teaching in the Schools. The Government has started its beginning from the home town of Education Minister, Amritsar. Six Union leaders have been suspended in this regard. Daily Post, in its report on April 21 had revealed that the department had decided to take stern action against those, who were interrupting work and preferred to lead protests against the Government during duty times.
According to official sources, the State Government was annoyed with the protesting teachers, which led to poor results of various classes. Lists had been prepared of those teachers, whose result performance was poor but they believed in holding protests and giving statements. In the series of this action, the Education department has suspended leaders of various teachers ‘and employee outfits, who are Germanjit Singh Lecturer Government Senior Secondary School Jabowal (Amritsar), Aman Sharma Lecturer Government Senior Secondary School Sohian Kalan (Amritsar), Mangal Singh Lecturer Political Science Government Senior Secondary School (Boys) Verka. Udham Singh Punjabi Teacher Government Middle School Loharka Khurad (Amritsar), Ashwani Awasthi S.S. Teacher Government Senior Secondary School Khilchiyan and Parmod Midha Junior Scale Stenographer office of DEO (Secondary) Amritsar.
Official sources told that such Union leaders are on the radar of the Government. Suspension and transfer are the strategy of the Government to tackle with these teachers, which may impact on their increments. Education Minister Om Parkash Soni, two days ago, had given warning if any teacher founds in agitation during the duty time, will face with action. Source told that the Chief Minister himself had given his consent to start reforms in the department. But the routine checking was being described as raid on teachers. Social media was being used as tool to defame the Government.
