The son of the richest man in the country proposed to diamantaire Russell Mehta’s youngest daughter Shloka Mehta at a pre-engagement ceremony in Goa. The two families and close friends gathered at a plush five-star resort on Saturday for a ‘get-to-know-each-other’ before the formal engagement. The wedding of Akash Ambani, the scion of India’s richest family, is on the cards for later this year.According to sources, both the families denied commenting on wedding thing. But the information of the sources is turning true, a lavish pre-engagement photoshoot of Akash Ambani was conducting yesterday evening. The pre-engagement photoshoot took place around 6 pm in the evening. Yesterday, Akash proposed Shloka for marriage and she agreed. The wedding of the couple is speculated to held in December of this year.In a picture, Mukesh Ambani is feeding cake to daughter-in-law. Today, the Ambani’s were spotted at the holy temple of Siddhivinayak. The family came to take the blessing of Lord Ganesh. Along with the family even Shloka was spotted walking with Neeta Ambani.Shloka Mehta was born on 11th July 1990 in Mumbai to India’s top diamantaire Russell Mehta, who is the proprietor and CEO of Rosy Blue Diamonds. Shloka Mehta, who also studied at Princeton University and the London School of Economics, is a director in the family-run diamond firm. She is also the co-founder of ConnectFor, a platform that makes it easy and convenient for people to volunteer and provide services in NGOs of their choice. Mona Mehta is mother of Shloka Mehta. She is also handling her father’s business as the director of the company since 2014. Shloka Mehta is more into social work.The Ambanis and Mehtas share a good friendship bond and even Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta studied together at the Dhirubhai Ambani International School in Mumbai and have been close friends for years.

In 1973, with Dilip Mehta at the helm, Rosy Blue Antwerp began expanding into global distribution and sourcing of diamonds. “Rosy Blue is a ‘family corporation’. We have evolved differently from most diamond companies, which are managed by the core family. We have trained and groomed professionals to take over key job of trading diamonds which I don’t think many other companies have done. This allowed us to scale up,” says Mehta.
