Election Commission has banned the Exit poll for Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat assembly elections till 14th of December. The single-phase assembly election in Himachal Pradesh will be held tomorrow. While the first phase of polls in Gujarat will take place on 9th of December and the second phase on 14th of December. In a statement, the poll body yesterday said, exit polls showing outcome of the Himachal Pradesh polls cannot be shown till both the phases of Gujarat polls are completed. It said, conducting any exit poll and publishing or publicising by means of the print or electronic media or dissemination in any other manner shall be prohibited. It also said displaying any election matter, including results of any opinion poll or any other poll survey, in any electronic media, would be prohibited 48 hours prior to the election day.In Himachal Pradesh, the polling for the ensuing assembly elections in all 68 assembly constituencies will be held tomorrow. All arrangements are in place for single phase polling. Total 7,480 Polling parties have been moved yesterday for polling station and remaining 45 parties will leave today. The inter-state borders have been sealed completely to ensure free and fair polling in the state. Total 65 companies of central para military forces have been deployed in various parts of the state. The forces are keeping close vigil on nearly 93 inter-state entry points. All the vehicles entering into state are being strictly checked at barriers. More security forces have been deployed in the area bordering Jammu in Chamba district. Meanwhile the different surveillance teams of election department have recovered over one crore thirty three lakh 94 thousand rupees in different parts of the state till yesterday. While the police and excise & taxation officials also seized three lakh thirty five thousand liquor.
