Amritsar: Punjab police found an abandoned bag with 11 rusted bombs in it near Chheherta road in Amritsar on Saturday. Security forces have been alerted after the grenades were found.

The hand grenades have been found at a time when India-Pakistan hostilities have escalated, with the Intelligence Bureau issuing alerts at all border-states. Amritsar is located barely at a distance of 20 km from the international border, which demarcates the Indian and Pakistani side of Punjab.
As of now, no confirmation has been made whether the grenades belong to terrorists or have any Pakistani markings on them.
The border security is expected to be further escalated in Amritsar. No information has been passed on any possibility of infiltration through the Punjab border.
