Muktsar:Mansion of Badals at village Badal witnessed lot of hustle bustle on Monday. As the Badal trio-Parkash Singh Badal, Sukhbir Singh Badal and Harsimrat Kaur Badal-was there, hundreds of people visited them to share their feelings after the poll results.
Putting up brave faces, the three Badals met the people with full of enthusiasm, accepted the congratulatory wishes for winning Lambi and Jalalabad and in return attempted their best to infuse positive energy among all the visitors, saying: “Let’s respect the mandate. Give some time to yourself and rejuvenated then again come in the field with a mission to win 2019 Lok Sabha polls.”
Message and the body language of the Badals was enough to disseminate a message among the cadre that they have lost the chance to form the government for third consecutive term on a poor note for standing third in the race but the hope for a comeback still sustains.
It was homely affair in the mansion as people were spotted not only exchanging pleasantries with the Badal trio but also clicking selfies and groupies with them. Former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, relaxing on a couch, was also seen obliging all who wanted to have word with him or desiring him to look in the camera for a photograph.
Union minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal encouraged the cadre came from Bathinda (rural) assembly segment in the leadership of party’s unsuccessful candidate Amit Rattan. The SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal also delivered a passionate speech and then held a meeting with a team of his confidants. He then left for Jalalabad, where his party workers had held a function to congratulate him for his victory in the Assembly polls.
Meanwhile, the 90-year-old SAD patriarch also moved out to express condolences to two families in his constituency as they lost their family members. He first visited the bereaved kin of contractor Des Raj at Badal village and then party worker Atinder Pal Singh aka Jimmy’s family at Mehna village as he lost his grandmother few days back.
Later, the former Chief Minister informed that he would be starting a thanksgiving tour of the state, starting from his constituency-Lambi, from Tuesday onwards. On the first day, he would visit 13 villages on a stretch.
