Bathinda: Union Minister of Civil Aviation P Ashok Gajapathi Raju will inaugurate the domestic airport of Bathinda on Sunday. The day will also mark the launch of first civil flight from Delhi to Bathinda of Alliance Air having Raju and his Cabinet colleague Union Minister for Food Processing Harsimrat Kaur Badal and also Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal.
The terminal has been developed at a cost of around Rs 25 crore using glass and steel to allow maximum use of natural light. The airport is 30 kms away from Bathinda railway station and 7 kms from National Highway 10 (Bathinda-Malout Road).
The inaugural offer fare from Bathinda to Delhi is set Rs 2,499 till December 25.The flights will run from Bathinda thrice a week every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. The aircraft will start from 12:15 noon from Delhi and arrive at 1:45 pm in Bathinda. It will leave from Bathinda at 2:15 noon and reach Delhi at 3:45 pm.
