Chandigarh: Vigilance Bureau registered a criminal case against a Child Development and Project Officer (CDPO) of Abohar on the charges of tempering with the official record and financial embezzlement.
Disclosing this official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said that on the basis of the investigation conducted by the Bureau, Amrish Kumar Jain posted as CDPO at Abohar, District Fazilka was found guilty of tempering with the official record and financial embezzlement.
Divulging the detail the spokesperson said that the said CDPO during his tenure as CDPO, Abohar-1 in 2012 has tempered with the receipts of transportation of ration and committed embezzlement of Rs. 9,000.
Similarly he committed financial bungling of Rs. 80,000 in the year 2011-2012 by fraudulently depicting this amount to be spent under Kishori Shakti Yojna. He said that this officer when relinquishing his charge as CDPO Abohar there was Rs. 1, 27,944 in the account as per the cash book but only Rs. 72,990 was the outstanding amount in the account which was Rs. 54,954 less than the actual amount as per the cash book.
The spokesperson said that on the basis of this investigation a criminal case has been registered against this officer.
