Jalandhar: A fish trader was murdered in full public view on Tuesday at Basti Bawakhel Fish market. Many were present in the market as per their daily routine and police was called immediately who started the investigations and took the dead body in the custody.
The deceased has been identified as Raman Kumar alias Rinku (35) resident of Basti Bawakhel in Jalandhar. During the preliminary investigation it has come to fore that the victim was given blows in his head by his friend turned foe Jaipal Singh alias Pali of the same area with a sharp edged weapon.Three persons were booked in the case while main accused Pala was arrested in the evening.
Eye witnesses Prem Kumar & Aman Kumar who are brothers and own a fish sale shop in the market told that Raman Kumar parked his Tata-407 vehicle as usual at 6.30 am in front of their shop. Pala along with his daughter Rani and his friend stopped him outside his shop. An argument started between them and Pala struck blows on Raman’s head. Raman was declared dead in the nearby hospital.
Basti Bawa Khel SHO Gurprit Singh told Daily Post correspondent that they have arrested Pala. ” We have booked him and two others in murder case and investigating the role of his daughter in the case.We will present him the court tomorrow”SHO Gurprit Singh said.
As per the police, both Pala and Raman were good friends but had a fight in March this year and an enmity started between the two which resulted in this incident.Pala already had some crime cases pending towards him.
