Chandigarh: Former AAP leader and Coordinator of Finance Committee, Hardip Singh Kingra raised the questions over the collection of party fund of AAP. In a press conference on Thursday, Kingra revealed financial bungling of AAP and released an audio sting of extorting money to fix a meeting with AAP leader Durgesh Pathak.
Kingra, a close associated of Sucha Singh Chhotepur, explained the modus operandi of AAP for collecting the money. He alleged that some AAP activists, close to senior leaders of the party, used to collect money for introducing and getting an appointment with Durgesh Pathak and other senior leaders. Kingra said the AAP leaders had fixed the amount of Rs 5 Lakh per month for single meeting with Durgesh Pathak. He added that the audio sting of demanding Rs 5 lakh was recorded in Samrala where confident man of Durgesh, Amrish Tarikha negotiated.
Besides this, Kingra said that AAP had organised 13 ‘Funds Raising Events’ that costs for Rs 1.5 crore and claimed that the money was transferred to Delhi. He added that he had attended the fund raising event twice and claimed that he himself had paid the bills of that events.
While revisiting the Lok Sabha elections of 2014, when he was holding the finances of AAP, Kingra said that 27 accounts were opened in different branches of IBDI bank across the state for depositing party fund. He added that only 13 accounts were operational
Kingra also alleged that the AAP is a one man show rung by ‘egoistic’ Arvind Kejriwal, who never trusted Punjabi leaders. Claiming that even the publicity malarial, used in the Lok Sabha elections was brought from Delhi on rent more that the cost of the items.
Of the 27 accounts in the branches of IDBI bank, 13, including one state account, were made operation. Ironically, Delhi based AAP leadership, had retained powers of authorized signatories with it which after the Lok Sabha elections was withdrawn.
He made it clear that Chhotepur was not authorities to operate any bank account.
Out the 13 accounts about four are in operation as today and that too are being operated by the confidants of the Party.
