Jalandhar: In another political development before assembly elections, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) today replaced its State President Avtar Singh Karimpuri and appointed Rachpal Raju as its new State President. Meanwhile, the party has decided to launch Karimpuri on Phillaur (Reserve) seat to contest the assembly polls.
It is pertinent to mention here that Phillaur as an assembly segment, were BSP attained the maximum votes in 2012 assembly polls. Baldev Singh Khehra, who contested the seat last time, has not switched his loyalty to Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), which has already declared him the party’s nominee for upcoming polls.
