Ludhiana: Unruly scenes in Ludhiana, YAD and Congress activists – women hurled bangles at Kejriwal on his arrival in Punjab on Thursday.
Chaos engulfed the Ludhiana railway station as as Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal arrived via the morning Shatabdi from New Delhi on Thursday.
A few disgruntled AAP volunteers gathered at the railway station, alleging that the candidates to whom AAP had given tickets were corrupt. Punjab Police and Delhi Police personnel as well as AAP volunteers had to form a ring around Kejriwal to keep the protesters at bay.
Local Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leaders, including Ludhiana SAD president Gurdeep Singh Gosha, were present at the station and threw bangles at Kejriwal, while raising ‘Kejriwal go back’ slogans.
Mahila Congress wing president Leena Thaparia, along with her supporters, showed black flags to Kejriwal.
Kejriwal left the station from the rear side.
