Ludhiana: A youngster tore woman’s clothes as she was on a post-dinner walk with her husband and 13-year-old daughter in Jagraon around 10 pm on Monday. Sources revealed that all this happened over a bet of Rs 8,000.
One of the accused accomplices was chased down by husband and is under arrest, while third accomplice is on the run.
The victim and her family were initially reluctant to lodge a complaint fearing public embarrassment, but on Wednesday, they finally registered FIR. All three men are residents of Jagraon and have been charged under section 354-B (assault or use of criminal force to woman with intent to disrobe) of IPC.
Not only did accused all aged between 20 and 25, strip 34-year-old woman but they also laughed at their act and fled whistling and hooting said the complaint.
Victim’s husband called some people and nabbed Ravi Kumar, alias Golu and after thrashing him handed him over to the police. Search for the main accused Manija, and another unidentified man is on, said Station House Officer, Jagraon City, Rajesh Kumar.
Victim’s husband also stated in the complaint that the three were part of a group who used to harass her wife in the past too, “but on Monday night they crossed all limits”.
