Chandigarh: The industry body, The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Assocham), which has set up the regional office for north India in Chandigarh, will work for the empowerment of enterprises. Dalip Sharma, Director, Assocham, said, “With our regional office in Chandigarh, Assocham will cater to industry and commerce based in Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana and UT Chandigarh.
We intend to empower the enterprise in the region by inculcating knowledge that will be the catalyst of growth in the technology driven global market and help them upscale, align and emerge as formidable player in respective business segments,” he said. “As a representative organ of corporate India, we shall articulate, legitimate needs and interests to impact the policy and legislative environment so as to foster balanced economic, and social development,” he said. “The thrust areas for operations from Chandigarh regional office will be trade, MSMEs, tourism, health and pharma, IT and ITES, infrastructure, real estate, innovation, education and skill development, banking and financial services, insurance, agriculture,” he said.
