Chandigarh: With an aim to spread awareness on dengue and malaria among city residents, the Malaria wing of UT Health Department is holding various preparatory activities.
According to an official from Health Department in coming days department will be strengthening door- to- door surveillance of dengue prone areas in city and will issue challans to offenders.
By September 20, eight fresh cases of dengue fever were reported thus taking the tally to 18 cases so far.
These eight cases have been reported in government as well as private hospitals. As per the data collected by UT Health Department, the cases were confirmed on Monday after the weekly test report was received by department. Earlier 4 cases were reported from PGI and one from Panjab University.
Malaria wing of UT Health Department is also busy in organising various health awareness camps and advocacy workshops across city.
Various teams have been constituted by NVBDCP Staff for carrying following field activities including checking of coolers, anti-larval activities, anti-adult activities, IEC activities by door- to-door visits.
