192 clerks denied appointment just for distance education.
192 clerks have been denied appointment just on the grounds that they have graduation degrees through the distance education. Although Clerks have been selected by Punjab staff selection board through the advertisement issued in 2013 but not get provisional appointment letters till now.It is worth mentionable that Punjab government had recently offered a DSP post to former chief minister Beant Singh’s grandson Guriqbal Singh who also has a degree through distance education which has raised many questions against the government.According to the reports, 40 petitions filed by them were pending before the Punjab and Haryana High Court. They said the high court on August 28 had directed the Punjab staff selection board to get verification of the petitioners and appoint them provisionally but no action has been taken by the board till date.Guriqbal Singh, grandson of ex-CM Beant Singh appointed as DSP is a 2012 graduate from Periyar University in Tamil Nadu through distance education mode. Department has cleared his appointment but these 192 clerks who had been selected were being denied appointment on those grounds,” said the candidates.
