A total of 276 Chartered Accountant Graduates across north India on Wednesday conferred with their degrees at Annual Convocation of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), the pan India apex body of CA fraternity formed under the act of Parliament.
Mahatma Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration, Sector 26, Chandigarh, Arjun Ram Meghwal, Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs, Government of India presided the convocation while CA Sanjay Tandon, BJP state head, Chandigarh grace the occasion as Chief Guest on Wednesday. According to CA Naveen Soni, Chairman, ICAI, Chandigarh, “The CA body is organising such convocation today in ten different parts of the country with awarding the member certificates to the newly enrolled members on all India basis.”
While referring the CA profession as ‘mother of profession’, the minister stressed upon the need of CA expertise in the current economic. “Accounting system is crucial in the promotion of nation’s economy. A CA need to be trusted and emerged as a complete business solution provider to recognized globally. Indian CAs are not only capable of fighting the economic downturn but also guide how to come out of it,” Meghwal said.
