Chandigarh: City lad, 16 years old Aadil Bedi won the Western India Amateur championship held at BPGC Mumbai. Aadil is going to represent country at True Vision golf championship at Thailand from 3-7 April.
Meanwhile, playing his first Amateur match which he started cautiously with score of 70,71,67 and 65 with score of 273 and won with margin of 7 shots from Jay Pandaya of Ahmadabad. Aadil shot total 21 birdies in the match. It was tied position after day 3 with just 2 shot clear from Dhruv Sheron. But Aadil started with very aggressive note on last day with birdies on hole 1,4,8,10, 12, 13,18. he intimidated his opponents and left no room and won by 7 shot. Aadil is all set to play Maharashtra Amateur Championship at Pune next week.
“I am keeping my eye at coming Asian Game and Youth Olympic game in 2018”, he said. These are qualifying matches for next year big Asian games. With this maiden win Aadil moved to 16th position in IGU merit list. Aadil is all set to represent India in first week of April next month in True vision at Bangkok Thailand. Thailand golf association is hosting this annual event through Albatross Company who is working for promotion of golf in India.
Aadil said after winning “It was great playing with elder players like HS Kang, Viren Thapar, Dhruv Sheron, Sunnit Chowrasia and Shivnaren. It is good experience in the field of 60 top amateur players of the country”.He said that my Indian coach Jesse Grewal and USA coach Bob Byman working zhard with me day and night.
